Kind Heart

Yesterday, Lance and Bub went to Worlds of Fun in Kansas City. It was a guys day out. They went to hear David Crowder, Bub's FAVORITE band. He has been teaching himself to play the guitar and does a lot of it by listening to David Crowder. Anyway, Bub had been dying to see David Crowder in concert and this was a great opportunity. They had such a great time.

David Crowder

It was VERY HOT and LOUD!!

Bub is very cautious and riding big rides is very intimidating for him. Lance did manage to get him on a couple - and believe it or not, he enjoyed them.

When they came back later that night, Lance started sharing with me some of the conversations they had. My dad had given Bub some money to take with him to buy something as a reminder of this trip. All day long, whenever Lance got into his wallet to buy something, he would cautiously say "Dad, that's not my $10, is it?". They rode so many rides and stood in so many lines, but what a great time to visit. Lance couldn't get him to slow down long enough to eat, so before the concert they enjoyed french fries and a shake. On the way home, Lance was hungry, so he decided to pull over and get something to eat. He asked Bub what he wanted and in his sweet, kind, precious heart he said "Dad, that's OK, I don't need anything. You've spent so much on me today. You probably spent $150 on me today, so it's OK - I don't need anything." (Talk about melting a parent's heart) Lance looked at him and told him that it didn't matter how much it cost, he wouldn't trade it for the world and this is something we (mom and dad)wanted to do for him. He then told him he had to eat - so tell me what do you want. It was a great time.

Bub is growing up - and I can't stop it!

(By the way, Princess was not neglected. She had a girls day out shopping and making a lab puppy at Build A Bear.)
