Every girl looks forward to getting married. We dream about it - only wishing to know who it will be. I met Lance about 19 years ago. We were best friends and I can truly say I married my best friend. I have to say when we got married, it was the best day of my life. I remember thinking, next to my salvation experience at age 8, it couldn't get any better than this. Then the Lord blessed me (us)with two beautiful children. Again, I thought it can't get any better than this. However, when our music minister approached me and asked me to sing a duet with my daughter, little did I know it would be another great moment in my life. The children's choir was working on the musical "Living inside out in an upside down world." David (our music minister) asked me to sing "Only You" with Princess. Little did I know what I was getting myself into. At first, we were only singing the first stanza. Then he asked if we would sing the whole song. I was a little nervous, because my daughter sings at home all the time, but never sang out in choir at church. I wasn't sure how she would do and now to sing a solo/duet, I wasn't sure how she would respond. I am telling you, from a mother's perspective, I can't even begin to tell you how proud I was of my daughter. She did such a wonderful job and it was all I could do not to cry. I could not look at my family or her, because I knew I would loose it. As the song ended and I was looking at her, she looked up and me and I lost it. It was truly such a neat experience - one I hope to do again. Another treasured event in my life!
