Day 4 of Snowmageddon

Snow.....I LOVE it! I may be the only one, but I love the snow. It is beautiful and when the moon or car lights shine upon it - it sparkles like diamonds. Maybe it is the 2 1/2 years that we spent in Chicago, but I love snow! Bring it on!

These past four days have been wonderful! I have enjoyed being couped up in the house with my kids and Lance. We have watched more movies and TV shows, consumed so much food and baked a lot of sweets! (Oh Zumba - you will kill me on Monday!)

Thursday night I made my favorite soup - Corn Chowder with homemade corn bread. It brings back so many wonderful memories of Lufkin. It is a recipe that I got from Angie. It is so easy, yet wonderful - one taste and you would think I spent all day in the kitchen. It is my favorite - it is my comfort food and with 18 inches of snow....it is comforting.

Today we made snow ice cream as the snow was falling from the sky.....again.

Here is how Austin & Kelsey fixed their ice cream.

This was the first time I made it for the kids and they loved it! I remember living in Chicago and mom making snow ice cream....a lot! It also brought back so many memories of my childhood days in Chicago. Mom, Dad, and I have thought back to the times when the snow we see now was from October - April. We laughed about one year having to drive around with big orange flags that, as kids, we put on our bikes. We did this so that other cars could see us above the snow. It was especially useful at an intersection. At least we are not to that point.....yet!

I also broke down and made chocolate chip cookies. I love chocolate chip cookies and my mom's recipe is the best!

She made these for us as kids and they are the softest cookies ever!

Oh I just love a good chocolate chip cookie!

We LOVE Netflix! We have watched so many movies! Some quotes from the movies we watched this week. Can you guess what movie we watched?
"Poop in his hand, poop in his hand"
"Every girl is a princess"
"Why are you naked? why are you wet?" (Just Lance and I)
"She hates me, Julia hates me!"
There are so many more, but I think I will stop. One thing we really got into was The Cosby Show. I had forgotten how funny that show was! My kids laughed and laughed - Austin even said - "Mom! This show is hilarious!" We even noticed Adam Sadler as one of Theo's friends. Kinda funny! If only life were like the Huxtables. Where have all of the family friendly shows gone? That is a whole nother entry!

Well, my children are loving the snow.

They have had more fun making forts

and building tunnels for Max to run through!

Wonder what tomorrow will hold.....
