We went to school on Monday and Tuesday...however we woke up Wednesday morning with 15 MORE inches of snow - on top of what we already had. I have said it before, but I LOVE snow!! That is the one thing I love about living in Oklahoma - the 4 seasons. When we lived in Illinois, we got mostly winter. When we lived in Texas, we got mostly summer. Here in Oklahoma, we get all 4 seasons and I love it. I haven't seen this much snow since I was Kelsey's age and living in Chicago.
Since the snow was very light, Lance decided instead of shoveling the snow, he would use the leaf blower. I was laughing a little at first, but I was quite suprised. He said he probably didn't save much time, but he sure saved his back.
When we are snowed in like this, I sometimes like to get my craft on. Since it was so close to Valentines Day, Kelsey and I decided to bake, work on teacher gifts and work on our Valentine's. We had a great time. Kelsey and I went to Bakerella.com and decided to tackle the cake pops. Since it was Valentine's, we decided on the chocolate cake pops with pink icing.
(Aren't they cute?? Kelsey and I made these!)
We also decided to make teacher gifts. We started with a glass container and taped off the sections that we wanted to remain glass.
Then we spray painted the rest of the glass with chalkboard paint. (I think next time, I will use regular paint so it doesn't drip. I still think that they turned out cute) We filled it up with Valentine candy and put a bow on the top. Considering that we did this, I think it turned out fine.
I also got creative with X's and O's. I wanted some letters for Valentines to set out around the house. I was at Hobby Lobby and ran across these letters.
I bought some scrapbook paper and found my Modge Podge and got to work. I wrapped the scrapbook paper around the letters and this is what the end product looked like.
Now I think that I need some more to put around the house. I am also trying to think ahead to March - what could I make for March.
Anyway, as you can tell, Kelsey and I have had a blast!
